East Timor Development Studies Network is holding a one-day seminar on
The Future of Education in East Timor
9am to 5 pm, Saturday 20 November.
Place: Australian Education Union
112 Trennery Crescent, Abbortsford
The seminar will provide an opportunity to bring together East Timorese and
Australians who are working, have worked or are planning to work in any
area of education or training and who are interested in the future of East
Timor. There will be a discussion about appropriate educational policies
for an independent East Timor and a pooling of ideas about ways in which
practical help might be provided to all levels of the education system.
Following a keynote address, there will be panel discussions (on:
comparative experiences relevant to East Timor, history of education in
East Timor and perspectives of organisations working there) and workshops.
