Contract workers at the Victorian state Land Titles Office, members of the
ASU, are planning to strike across all shifts from Sunday morning.
They are currently employed under Kennett's industry sector minimums and
are campaigning for a federal award (which would mean a pay rise).
This is a fight for casuals and temporary contract staff everywhere who are
being denied access to the most basic federal award rights most workers
take for granted.
Victory will reduce the incentive to use labour hire agencies and make a
dent in Kennett's unfair anti-worker laws.
ASU members encourage you to join the picket lines at 283 Queens St, city,
at the following times:
Sunday, Nov 14, 8am, 11.45am and 11.45pm
Monday, Nov 15, 7.45am and 3.45pm

Contract workers will also be speaking out at a public meeting on Thursday,
November 18, at 7.30pm at the Function Room, RMIT, Swanston St.
The title is The Fight for Real Jobs and the speakers will be an ASU
activist from the Land Titles Office and an NUW delegate from a market
research call centre which has been successfully unionised in the past six
months.
