The first post-privatisation inquiry into monopoly electricity prices in now underway. The electricity distribution businesses have made their submissions to the regulator re prices/service standards/quality of supply. They have proposing only minor price cuts when substantial cuts (especially for households) should be forthcoming. Customer groups are holding a forum on the 9th & 10th of December at RMIT, Casey Plaza theatre to inform customers about the inquiry, about the DBs proposals. Without customer groups believet he DBs will spend $15m alone on this inquiry. customers about $15,000!!! Customers need to be active if their interests are to be served by the inquiry. Details for the forum can be made by going to http://home.vicnet.net.au/~eag1/ Registrations - please ring the conference secretariat on 95306777 The forum is free for customers -- Leftlink - Australia's Broad Left Mailing List mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.alexia.net.au/~www/mhutton/index.html Sponsored by Melbourne's New International Bookshop Subscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Body=subscribe%20leftlink Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Body=unsubscribe%20leftlink
