Let this family stay
After four years seeking asylum, the Abeyrama family now faces deportation
to Sri Lanka, and the risk of torture and death.
Joe Abeyrama, a leader of the a teachers union in Sri Lanka, worked to
expose corruption. He was murdered in 1989. His family fled to Australia,
after receiving death threats from the murderers. Their home in Sri Lanka
has been attacked while they have been in Australia.
Immigration minister Philip Ruddock has refused to grant asylum.
