The end of casualisation of the Education Department. An agreement was
signed today ending the Kennett era of casualisation. Contact teaching as
the preferred mode of employment has ended. Mary Bleutt and Mary Delahunty
signed the agreement to end contract employment for teachers other than
genuine short term vacancies March first. Check out the AEU website
www.aeuvic.asn.au from the 3rd of March for further details. Next stop will
be the end of casualisation of Allied Staff employment in schools.
Long campaign but a successful one.
