a new discussion list for revolutionary unionists and anarcho-syndicalists and anyone interested in same has been set up on the p.j. proudhon memorial computer. you can subscribe by sending a message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with "subscribe syndicalists" in the subject line. here's the list statement: Welcome to Syndicalists! Syndicalists is a discussion list for anarcho-syndicalism and revolutionary unionism, and anyone who is interested in learning more about these concepts. Please feel free to ask "dumb" questions if you're unsure about something. Don't feel bad about being new; we've all been there at one stage or another. Syndicalists is primarily a discussion list, not a news service. There are already far better news services such as a-infos up and running (to subscribe, send a message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with "subscribe a-infos" in the subject line). Those on Syndicalists already have this information, since they have already recieved this welcoming message, and will have subscribed if they wanted to. There is therefore no need to forward volumous amounts of news to this list. News postings forwarded from other lists are welcome as long as they're relevant - meaning that those receiving your message will be able to do something about the item concerned, or what you're sending illustrates one aspect or another of syndicalist theory. Syndicalists is an international list, which means that someone in Christchurch, New Zealand can't really do all that much about the strike of your local bus company in Anchorage, Alaska, in the same way that they might be able to do something to support a local action against McDonalds or Nike. In other words, it doesn't exist purely for the convenience of anyone living in Anchorage, Alaska, or Christchurch, New Zealand, or anywhere else, but for everyone living everywhere. Send your message if you really must, but try to keep this in mind. As always, no discriminatory remarks or flaming will be tolerated on Syndicalists. Anyone engaging in this kind of behaviour will be removed without warning.
