The resignation of the UN's ambassador to Iraq and his outcry against US
sanctions, has turned the world's attention to the morality of imposing
them. This investigative piece by controversial Australian journalist, John
Pilger, shows how the impact of the sanctions has led to the deterioration
of Iraq's health care system, and far from hindering Saddam, they are
instead hurting ordinary civilians, and most especially, the children.
Medication essential for the prevention and eradication of deadly diseases
has long been unavailable and the human cost is insufferable.
