I would like to invite you to 'Action/Recollection: Here the body is', an
exhibition including the work of activists and artists, from Australia and
overseas. The exhibition examines the ways that human actions are ways of
historical recollection.
'Action/Recollection' includes: Fair Wear, the East Timor Student Solidarity
Council, the FreeTimor Campaign, University Students for East Timor, Tuhoe
Embassy Publications (NZ), Rainer Ganahl (Austria/USA), Kylie Wilkinson,
Bernhard Sachs, and Tom Nicholson. The exhibition is curated by Tom
Nicholson.
'Action/Recollection' runs until 5 August at West Space, Melbourne's oldest
artist-run gallery, 1st floor, 15-19 Anthony Street, Melbourne. (Opening
hours 12noon-6pm Wed.-Fri, 11am-5pm Sat.).
Also, at 6.30pm on Thursday 3 August, Fair Wear is holding a forum at the
gallery, to celebrate the success of Fair Wear so far and to plan the next
stage of action. All welcome.
