The State Government has release reports proposing new routes for a
freeway down the Merri Creek corridor between the Hume Highway at
Craigieburn and the Ring Road.

Friends of Merri Creek are deeply disappointed that the Government
has not considered the option of modestly upgrading the Hume Highway as an
alternative to building a freeway.

Friends of Merri Creek and other community groups will be running a strong
campaign to stop the freeway and they need help urgently.
A special briefing and action meeting will be held on
Wednesday 9 August at 8.00pm
at Brunswick Town Hall
Sydney Rd Brunswick.

Everyone is invited to come to this meeting to find out more about the
freeway proposals and to join the campaign.

The Freeway Campaign Office is also located at Brunswick Town Hall
