4.00pm Planning meeting for Day of Action - 'Community not Corporations'
on Aug 25th. (Street performers, musos, etc welcome!!)
I'll try and organise the Albion Peace Centre on the 20th for banner
painting, prop building etc.
Friday, August 25th Day of Action - 'Community not Corporations' and Gig -
'Rock against Corporate Control'
11.00 am, Assemble King George Square, 11.30 march on to Queens St Mall and
Occupation of Queen St Mall. Think we should keep the forcus on corporate
control over public space for this action.
I suggest if we are a big mob we could stick to occupying the mall, if we
are smaller move on to a sit in at McDonalds. If we're real big maybe we
can do both. (this obviously needs to be further worked out)
FutureNative are interested in doing an acoustic gig in the mall during the
occupation.
5.00 pm, Critical mass, assemble King George Square.
6.00 pm. Doors open fundraiser - 'Rock Against Corporate Control' Line up
at present is looking like - possibly Regurgitator, FutureNative, , George,
SixFtHick, Spacejunk, Relish. If Regurgitator are playing the gig will
probably be at Arena, if they are not able to, Brokenhead will be able to
play instead - but we might have to find a smaller venue. (not too small
though -any ideas??)
then, Saturday, Sept 2, Albion Peace Centre, 9.30 am till 4.00 pm. (Bring
some lunch to share) Non violence training - World Economic Forum teach in.
