S11-AWOL invites YOU to join us as we prepare for s11...

 From this THURSDAY the 24th of August to this SUNDAY the 27th of August, 
AWOL (Autonomous Web of Liberation � http://www.antimedia.net/s11awol) is 
organising four days of Direct Action Training and Skillsharing, including 
banner, decoration and puppet-making, video-screenings and numerous 
opportunities to take action, to network and to socialise.

On offer will be workshops on:

- the theory and practice of affinity groups
- consensus decision-making
- independent media
- one entire day (Saturday) of medical/first aid training
- nonviolent blockading techniques
- nonviolent evasion techniques
- puppet-making (Thursday and Friday)
- the use of video and still cameras (Sunday)
- women and globalisation (Sunday)
- women's autonomous organising for s11 (Sunday)
- you and the law (Friday and Sunday)
- and MORE...

     As well as:

- Saturday night party
- videos
- X-Border solidarity demonstration (Saturday)

(NB. Depending on demand, a special bus may be arranged to take workshop 
attendees to Maribyrnong for the demo. on Saturday afternoon. For more

Please note that some of the workshops are physical and involve fun games 
and being hands-on.  They are designed to provide a comfortable space for 
involving yourselves in direct action skillsharing. There will also be a 
permanent space for banner and prop making, which will be available 
throughout the four days. We are endevouring to run as many workshops as 
often as possible so that even if you are only able to attend for a short 
time you will have a variety to choose from.

SO WHEN'S IT ALL HAPPENING AGAIN?

On Thursday through to Saturday from 10.00am to 5.00pm and on Sunday from 
11.00am through to 5pm.

WHERE? (Please note that there are TWO venues.)

On Thursday and Friday: Old Northcote Lawn Bowling Club, Pearl Street, 
Northcote.

On Saturday and Sunday: Little Gold St. Warehouse, 1A Little Gold Street, 
Brunswick.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

$5.00 per day, including lunch (provided by the good folk at Food Not 
Bombs). Childcare provided.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

No dogs.
No journalists.
No police.

Come one day or come to all four! This will be an excellent opportunity to 
hook up with people and find out what's going on, who's doing what and how 
YOU can get involved!

Also, please note that on the eveining of Thursday the 24th at The Old 
Northcote Bowls Club there will be the regular AWOL meeting, where various 
groups working on things like the September 7th Convergence, 
Communications, First Aid and Publicity will be meeting. Meetings use 
consensus decision-making and the bar will be open after the meeting. If 
you wish to attend, you're more than welcome. Please bring some vegetarian 
food to share if you can.
