POST S11 PUBLIC FORUM:

SEATTLE * MELBOURNE * PRAGUE

THE NEW GLOBAL RADICALISM- Its significance and future
     Sept 28, Thursday 6:30pm
     @ The Resistance Centre,
Lvl 5, Druids House, 407 Swanston St, Melb (opposite RMIT)
organised by the Democratic Socialist Party (DSP), phone 9639 8622

As the dust settles on the massively succesful protests at Crown, and =
days after what are shaping up to be huge protests in Prague, this forum =
takes stock of the "new wave of radicalism".

A range of speakers examine the anatomy of the anti-capitalist actions =
here and overseas in assessing their significance. Already in Australia =
mainstream commentators have noted that the S11 protests were to Labor =
what Hanson was to the Liberal party, in a potential left break from =
pro-capitalist politics of the ALP; but how does this fit into what is =
happening internationally?

Other issues to be raised include: do the protests represent another =
"60's style" radicalisation? How far have these movements developed in =
the South or third world? What alliances have and can be built in the =
midst of these campaigns? How can this 'movement' go beyond protest and =
towards building alternatives?

Come along to this timely forum.
