A TRANSPORT CONFERENCE PUT ON BY FIVE MAJOR COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS
Council on the Ageing, Environment Victoria, the Public Transport Users
Association, Victorian Council on Social Service and the Victorian Local
Governance Association.
TO DEVELOP A STATEMENT OF TRANSPORT DEMAND AND TARGETS
to give vision and direction to the Government's transport planning. The
organising groups believe that too much is being spent on freeway
development and not enough on the provision of public transport, other
greener forms of transport and freight movement, and road maintenance.
COME AWAY WITH:
a Statement of Transport demand and targets for transport developed by the
conference, contacts and information.
WHO SHOULD COME:
individuals, local councillors, community leaders, politicians, people from
any community, industry or government group interested in improving access
to public transport, cycling and walking.

(Environment and Planning RMIT) Dr Paul Mees (Transport Planning University
of Melbourne), Professor Brian Costar (Public Policy, Monash University),
