BACKGROUND:
Flinders is a rural electorate which covers an area from Portsea in the
south west to Mt Martha, Cranbourne South, Kooweerup and Lang Lang in the
north to San Remo and Phillip Island in the south east. The sitting member
is Liberal Minister, Peter Reith who holds a margin which could only be
shaken if current electoral trends continue and the Greens make headway. Mr
Reith's interests include talking on the phone and improving working
conditions for all Australians through lower rates of pay and compromised
working conditions.

Dunkley is an outer metropolitan electorate which covers the area from
Seaford in the North to Mornington in the south. It also includes Frankston,
Langwarrin, Mt Eliza, Frankston North and Skye. The sitting member is
Liberal backbencher Bruce Billson who has recently gained the spotlight by
talking about his possible need for a new job after the next election. This
is quite likely as Mr Billson is sitting on a margin of only a few percent.

Scott Kinnear is the lead candidate for the Greens in Victoria. He is best
known for his work as an anti-GE activist and founding chair of the Organics
Federation of Australia. He farms in the Daylesford area, has a young family
and partner as well as running two small businesses in inner Melbourne.
Scott's task is to gain
14% of the state-wide vote after preferences and to make sure that
progressive ideas and Green thinking are not absent from what could
otherwise become another ideas devoid election campaign.
