Barricade Books/ Infoshop Presents:

V A C A N T P O S S E S S I O N

A 1995 Australian film that explores seemingly common ground, as the death
of a mother brings a wayward daughter home to Botany Bay, where the old
family home begins to bring old wounds more and more to life. The film is
a metaphor for the history of White Australia and its ambiguous
relationship to the land and its surviving indigenous inhabitants.

Vacant Possession "hints at a different connection that Aboriginal
Australians have with the land, a bond not confined to the dream of owning
a house"
Pamela Rabe, who plays the central character Tessa.
