Freedom Kites

The right the move - the right to land

Children constructed kites out of plastic bags at Woomera desert camp
earlier this year. The kites could be seen from the different areas of the
centre, by those in isolation and by those who waited. The kites like sky
signs reminded people that freedom exists and that children will play. They
were confiscated and have since been banned at Woomera.
Kites will fly @ Maribynong Detention Centre on Sunday 3rd September and
people will continue to resist the corporate steer of globalisation with
their bodies as they move to survive. A sign of determination. Build you
own vehicle of flight and join the army of freedom kites..........
