Melbourne Resistance calls highschool walkout against Refugee Scapegoating.

Thurs 6th September 1.30pm Flinders St Station (march to Federal Court,
then DIMA)

Don't send the Refugees Away! Let them Stay!

It's time for young people to come out onto the streets and demand an end
to the racist scapegoating of refugees!!!!

High School students will be marching first to the Federal Court were the
verdict will be coming down in regards to the Tampa.

While the events surrounding the refugees off Christmas Island are a
dramatic escalation of the lengths to which the government is prepared to
go to keep the world's persecuted from seeking asylum, they represent a
long pursued policy of persecuting the already persecuted.

Just as in 1998 high school students shamed the major parties for their
complicity in Hanson's racist onslaught so too will we ensure they pay the
price for their bipartisan support of what can only be describe as crimes
against humanity.

No one fleeing for their life is an 'illegal alien'. There is no 'queue'
for those seeking protection from regimes such as the Taliban in
Afganistan. But John Howard is trying to win the unwinable election with
unbridled racism.

So whether your a highschool student or not make sure you're there to point
the finger at the Australian government for their inhumane and callous
actions and to free the refugees.

Let the Christmas Island refugees stay!

Close all detention centres!

Funding for settlement!

Open the borders!

In solidarity

Fred
