Meeting to set up local anti-war group in Richmond.

Richmond Library (branch of Yarra library group) 415 Church St (cnr Swan)

Tuesday October 9, 7pm. Enquiries 9429 1541

The relevance if you do not live in or around Richmond, Melbourne? For a
sustained effort a local group structure is _essential_.

We need groups in Springvale in Hurstbridge in Newport. The feeling I get
is that the hysteria is mobilizing faster than we are, so everyone please
think about this and get on to it.

What can local groups do? As a first start leafletting etc in their
neighbourhood...later we need _doorknocking_ house to house. Local
demonstrations etc. 500 people marching down Swan Street or wherever will
have much more impact for those who live there than 5000 people marching
down Swanston St (in the City Block).

Furthermore, in many areas local groups will be able to liaise with/help
set up _workplace groups_ in local workplaces.

This is going to be big. We should treat it as such and ASAP start laying
the foundations for a big mobilisation.

Sorry if the tone is a bit hectoring, it is not intended, please see past
that to the point!

Love to all, Jeremy
