It is a message to the major parties that their policies are inhumane and

This election the Greens are fielding candidates in all Lower House seats in
Victoria. Greens candidates share a vision for a humane and sustainable
future. They
are committed to making decisions on immigration, education, health &
welfare, tax and the environment for long term solutions not short-term
gains. They are committed to making decisions locally for global solutions.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR GREENS VOTE IN THE LOWER HOUSE COUNT
If you want to want to send a message to the major parties but are worried
about splitting the vote, here's how to get 2 full value votes:
If you Vote 1 Greens, your support for the Greens will be registered.
If you Vote 1 Major Party and 2 Greens, your Greens vote will never be
registered. Your vote will go straight to the major party.
So, if you Vote 1 Greens, Vote 2 Major Party, both votes count.
YES YOUR PREFERENCES FLOW
1. All votes are firstly divided up into their first preference. This vote
is registered.
2. Then votes in the smaller piles are redistributed into their second,
third or fourth preference piles until they make it into one of two
remaining piles of votes - usually those of the major parties.
3. So, your vote for the Greens will still count for the subsequent parties
of your choice.
VOTE GREENS IN THE SENATE TOO
Strong Greens candidates are also standing for the Senate, which is where
there is the best chance of getting Greens parliamentarians elected.
We will get Greens Senators elected with 14.3% of the vote after
preferences. It is most important that you VOTE GREENS IN THE SENATE TO
ALLOW GREENS TO SHARE THE BALANCE OF POWER and to scrutinise legislation
proposed by the big parties.
YOUR GREENS VOTE IS A VOTE THAT WILL BUILD A STRONGER GREENS PARTY FOR A
SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. It may not happen overnight, but it_will_happen !!!
