---> WHY HAVE THIS MEETING NOW?
The bombing of Afghanistan and "war on terrorism" have fuelled racism
internationally. In Australia mosques have been burnt down, people of
Middle Eastern appearance are being attacked & refugees further
scapegoated & demonised.
Days before the Federal election this meeting will bring together a broad
range of communities in sharing experiences, networking and developing
real grass roots strategies to combat racism and put the campaign for
refugee rights back on the agenda.
