Papua New Guinea

Graeme is the president of the Uni of PNG environment society and plays 
a major role in the student activist movement. Graeme and other students 
are also working with trade unions, women's groups, squatter groups and 
other anti-corporate globalisation and anti-corruption groups on issues 
such as:
- anti privatisation
- anti world bank / imf - structural adjustment programs
- how ausaid should be spent
- murder of anti-corporate-globalisation protestors, inluding a class 
action case
- anti-corruption

Graeme will also talk about the true labour party being put together by 
the PNG trade union congress. It joins together students, women 
activists, activists from the squatter settlements and various other 
lefties. A great crew with good left wing politics. This party looks to 
have a chance in PNG elections due in mid 2002.
