THE POLITICIANS
WEDNESDAY, 30TH JANUARY 2002 12.30PM TO 2.00PM ADELAIDE CENTRAL MISSION
10 PITT STREET, ADELAIDE
MODERATED BY JULIA LESTER MEDIA PRESENTER
The UTLC and the South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) in
cooperation with other community groups have been involved in
influencing policy debates on improving the whole of Government
strategies for unemployment, for full-time secure job creation and for a
focus on the needs of long-term unemployed people and those who are
underemployed.
With the recent rise in SA's official unemployment rate, tackling
unemployment and underemployment is one of the biggest issues in the
South Australian election. It will contribute to reversing our
increased poverty and inequality. It combines economic, industry and
social justice planning.
We have invited all the major political parties to answer questions.
Please attend this Community Jobs Forum on Wednesday 30th January
between 12.30pm and 2.00pm to debate at the Adelaide Central Mission, 10
Pitt Street,
Adelaide.
John Spoehr, Executive Director of the Centre for Labour Research at the
University of Adelaide will provisde the context.
Please contact Chris White at the UTLC ph 8212 3155 or mobile 0418 830
297.
