Registrations have now opened for the Community Advocacy Unit's latest 
workshop series, "COMMUNICATING SOCIAL CHANGE".

These three practical weekend workshops have been specially designed for 
advocates seeking to enhance their campaign communication skills.

"Tools for Social Change" - Saturday 20 April
Examines 'sensemaking' approaches to communicating social change and 
features sessions on how to produce effective communication campaigns 
and powerful ways to use art and graphic design to get your message across.

"CyberActivism" - Saturday 27 April
Covers a range of Internet-based communication tactics, including social 
action research through the Internet and web design for community 
organisations.

"Making Better Use of the Media" - Friday 3 May OR Saturday 4 May
Shows how community organisations can get the most out of the mainstream 
media. It features sessions on media liaison, how to write a media 
release and how to conduct radio and television interviews.

Registration fees are $60 per workshop for funded non-government 
organisations.  SUBSIDISED REGISTRATION FEES - AT $20 PER WORKSHOP - ARE 
AVAILABLE FOR UNFUNDED COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS.
