CALL FOR RESEARCHED ESSAY/FEATURE ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS

In addition to its commissioned publishing schedule, Overland invites
scholarly & journalistic submissions on the following themes to consider
for publication in 2003:

Corporate welfare
White collar crime
The working poor
Public space (surveillance, graffiti, private occupation of public
space, civil versus corporate rights & police powers)
'Dysfunction', diagnosis and public health

Features on other themes with a broad left political focus will be
considered. Preference will be given to well-argued, hard-hitting essays
that shed new light or take a radical angle on an area of public
concern. Scholarly essays are refereed. Submissions from women are
encouraged. Overland is a quarterly literary journal founded in 1954.
Its motto is: Temper Democratic, Bias Australian. It publishes essays,
reviews, fiction, poetry and cartoons, and is available in bookstores,
by subscription or at select libraries. Refer to copy of Overland for
editorial and payment guidelines.
