After the Bali tragedy, the Australian govt is considering resuming ties
with Indonesia's notorious Kopassus special forces -- in the name of the
fight against terrorism. Kopassus was long implicated in many atrocities
and other grave human rights violations in East Timor and, now, in Aceh
and West Papua.
If anything, such ties will only give these uniformed thugs a freer hand
for their terror.
