Last night a motion was passed unan at the Vic branch of the CFMEU
(construction division):
"If a war on Iraq begins before or after the Xmas shutdown, this branch
calls on the State Executive to consider a brief lunchtime action in the
CBD. We support a war on poverty, low pay and unemployment not
Australian taxpayers dollars being spent on a war on the people of Iraq
for US Imperialism and US oil companies."
PS Don't forget drinks on Tuesday after last SP Melbourne branch of the
year with talk from the Afghanistan anti-Stalinist Marxist underground!!
Meeting 7pm Trades Hall, drinks from 8.30pm....
