Well, the answer is maybe in my humble opinion.  I think 1/2" un-supported 
rails is on the light side and the rails might deflect under a heavy cut and a 
full sized router.  Laminate trimmer or smaller 2 HP router might be ok.  The 
acme thread is probably 10-tpi so to go an inch you are cranking the handle 10 
times.  It might be slower acting than you want, but very nice 1/10" measuring 
control.  The motor looks like an old uni-polar motor that will have a hard 
time lifting a router if you are planning to use this as a cnc.   The price is 
pretty fair if it's suitable.
