I sometimes wonder what the current market would bear if someone were to get Legacy's pemission to build and market a manual machine like the LOM Evolution. With them being 100% CNC now, would they consider it? With all the experience that this group has, perhaps an (almost) all encompassing machine could be produced that does most everything desired up to a realistic point. Hmmm. Ryan

I am afraid he is wrong in on one point, it was not to follow the money as he states, but to survive in business and keep paying the members of staff at Legacy. That is called doing what you have to do to survive in business when your traditional market dries up. Legacy's main customer base was the hobbyist market and at that time there was a recession on so guess what, most of Legacy's customers disappeared so CNC was the correct decision for them. The reason I know this was that I was selling Legacy machines into the UK and some of Europe and sales went down the pan about 6 months after the US. Yes, The Evolution would have been a good machine, I would love to have one along side my NOVA-DVR_XP Lathe but as my daughter tells me some times shit happens. And when she's not telling me that she is telling me about the waste skip that she will put all my tools in when I die. That's life, so just get on with it. Legacy as a business , decided to go 100% CNC. and follow the money. The sad part for us, the Manual machine users, was. just before the end, they were producing machines that were really nice! The REVO and the EVO. along with a few other proto types that never hit the market, could have?...(been what dreams are made out of...) ;-) C.A.G. I always thought I'd need a longer bed(which is why I bought the 1200), but the reality is that I almost never run anything over 4 feet, with 2 and 3 feet being the norm. This would have been a great machine. I'm surprised it wasn't sold longer. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Legacy Ornamental Mills" group.
