I have a question for everyone, Now that I have a wooden adapter, should I now
put it back on the Legacy and make it pretty? perhaps diamonds, or beads, or
flues???

 Hello everyone.
Last week I posted a few home made (Steel) Shop Smith adapters that I have made.
I got very little reply's to this topic. (even thought I was asked for the
photos.) I figured it was mainly due, ToMost of our group did not have access
to metal working equipment, So Today I made a new adapter for the Shop Smith
and the Legacy, and I made it out of wood. (hard maple) It couldn't be easier
to make, and the same design could be used on any wood lathe, no matter the
type of lathe you have. Here are step by step photo's of the process. The only
trick that may not be clear is once I drilled and mounted the blank on the
lathe, I then centered the two adapters (SS& LOM)  between centers on my lathe.
I pressed the two together, leaving marks where I then used to drill my
holes.Ive made many wooden face-plates and other wooden parts to hold items on
the lathe in the past, I see no reason why this adapter would not hold up for
years of turning. (and if it dose where-out, its easy enough to make again...)
Have a great day everyone.C.A.G.
