It helps a great deal if one understands spreadsheets. The page you show in the image is one of many pages. It's one of the calculated charts resulting from the input on "Pitches and Tooth Counts" sheet. The color codes are on that sheet, other reference material is in blue. It's not foolproof, but intended to be user friendly. Green areas are for data input, etc. The cells are "protected" but not password protected. This prevents accidental changes that could mess things up while allowing changes by those who know how to unprotect the cells.
