Hi John,
You may also want to learn to use the Source Clipboard.
When the Source you want is on the Clipboard, you simply need to have the cursor in the correct field (birth, death, census, general note etc) and click the single line and the source on the clipboard is attached to that event.

The source clipboard is very convenient and a fast way of adding sources, but you do need to know how to use it. I never use more than the front tab and I usually tick "prompt for detail" so I can double/triple check that I'm adding what I think I am. It's so easy to quickly load another source (right click on the Source Clipboard arrow and choose one of your saved sources) and go back to entering data from the main source you are using and forget you've digressed - at least it is for me ;-)
