I have an event called "obituary" that is placed after the date of
death and place the obituary text there. If all elements are known,
it reads: "Bob had an obituary published in the [newspaper] on [date]
in [city]. [text of obituary]
I would prefer to use the possessive form (Bob's), but we apparently
don't have that option.
Yes we do!
From the View Menu chose Master Lists... and then Event Definiton...
Scroll down to select Obituary and then click Edit.
Wherever you see [HisHer] at the start of a Sentence change it to read
[FirstName]'s.
I think that in the case where your ancestor's name is Robert but you
use "Bob", you will need to use the Sentence Override tab on the Event
Definition screen and *for his record only* change [Firstname]'s to
Bob's.
