Ouch! Your poor hand! I am so sorry about that. Yes, I have collected and printed everything I can find on the paper organizational filing systems. My maiden aunt (Dad's sister) was the bottom of the collection line, but never was interested in genealogy. Fortunately for me, she did not dump stuff.
In 1965, when pregnant with my first child, I became interested in the genealogy of my families, and she started sending me all of the information and papers that she had. I have carefully kept them all, but they are not really organized. Then I found the census records that can be printed on Ancestry.com, and have started collecting those ... along with assorted other gedcom files. I believe nothing totally until I can establish some surety. I was gardening and cut my hand, so typing is a bit awkward. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, 27 October 2006 11:34 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] I found the answer Thank you Jennifer ... that's good to know. I am getting ready to use the MRIN method for paper filing. Changing RIN numbers doesnt change MRIN numbers. I renumbered the RINs showing me as #1. However, this brings up another question. In the renumbering RINs screen it says you can renumber so that you get rid of gaps (from deleted persons). If you use the paper filing system that is recommended (the RIN # filing system which I DON'T use) it would mess up your entire filing system if you ever renumbered. michele Legacy User Group guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ilytree.com/ For online technical support, please visit http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ For online technical support, please visit http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
