Hi Jon,

Your email reminds us of the problems we create when we enter data without thinking about and checking the output and use fields for data other than that for which it was designed.

You appear to have used the Marriage Event address as a current mailing address. Despite the similarity of the form, this isn't the place designed for current mailing address but the place to record the address the marriage took place - or perhaps you have used a Marriage Residence Address?

To deal with several people living at the one address, there is a check box in the Mailing List generator when you use it from the Name Tags Report on the Who to print tab to only print one label per household. Why it is on this report and not the Address Label report is a mystery to me.

Either way, the mailing address needs to be tagged or checked as for Newsletter etc.

I don't think there is an easy solution to the Title if you want to use Mr & Mrs A workaround, I think, would be to enter it as part of the Address Name and use the Address Name when generating the list - but this messes up the ability to use Address Name as the name printed on Name Tags.

Seems like you probably need an enhancement to the program.

Cheers,
Cathy

I need help trying to generate a mailing. I have used the marriage address,
for married couples, and the person address, for widows, widowers and
singles, to enter mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, etc.
Unfortunately, when entering that data, I did not "tag" the address screen.

Now, I need to generate a mailing list for the living descendants of my
paternal grandparents. I want the report to show names as "Mr & Mrs so-and-so" or "Mr./Miss/Ms so-and-so" and include the addresses, phone numbers and email
addresses. The list should also include the divorced spouse, where that is
applicable.

I have been trying to do this all day, to no avail. Is there a way to do
this in Legacy? (It was so easy in the old Generations program!) Or am I
stuck with having to manually edit each address to "tag" the address screen? (If
I did this manually for every address in my data, I'm looking at 5,000+
addresses, a formidable task.)
