There have been a few issues that have arisen using Windows Vista. Build 6.0.0.127 fixed the three problems Legacy has with Vista. We won't be doing any updates for Legacy v5 to run properly under Vista. Here are some workarounds: 1. The help files won't work unless you go to the Microsoft website and download the WinHlp32.exe file. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607/en-us where you'll find information about this problem and links to download the WinHlp32.exe file. There are two options to download: Windows6.0-KB917607-x64.msu For 64-bit Vista Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu For 32-bit Vista 2. You won't be able to update the Deluxe edition from within Legacy. You can find out if there's an update available, but you'll have to go to our website at http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/helpDownloadVersion5.asp to download new updates. However, they're very rare with Legacy v5. You'll get an update only if the database schema changes and we need to make the Family Files in v5 compatible with the Family Files in v6 again. 3. You'll need to do one of two things: A. If you have multiple users of Legacy on your computer, when you switch users, you will need to go to Options > Customize > Locations and click on the "Reset" button by "Location of Temporary Files" OR B. With Windows Explorer, go to the Legacy folder on your hard drive and create a new Temp sub-folder. Right click on the Legacy folder, select New > Folder and then name the new folder "Temp". Then go to Options > Customize > Locations and set the path to c:\Legacy\Temp. This will create a new folder that won't require resetting every time you change users. Make sure that you install Legacy to the default c:\Legacy folder and not into the Programs folder. There may be other problems we haven't run into yet. Thanks for using Legacy.
