Hi Cathy,

Your suggestion sounded like it might work. I've already moved on with my Legacy.fdb export/import file but I went back to the old, (yesterday), corrupt file and tried importing CS defaults and also from repaired file and neither worked.

Hi Richard,

You could try resetting the Child Status List by importing the Defaults
When in the Master Child status list
Options button
Import
tick Child Status and then the Import Defaults button.
I would think that would have the same effect as exporting to a new family file - which isn't something to do lightly as you lose created and modifed date data, imported tags are attached to everyone rather than those who you really have imported etc.

Please tell me how to see "imported tags". I added 5 Individuals since last import, (last one is FRANKLIN STEIN ;-) ). I can see created date and modified date, mostly yesterday just a few today.

I had to reset ancestor colors, set direct line and set relationships and lost TO-DO list. The majority would alredy show as imported anyway even though I entered myself in another program.

If you are exporting your whole file, you don't have to create a new family file first. You just choose in the File - Export to Legacy file to export all records.

That is how I did it.

Check/Repair includes compress Family File as the final step so your Family File is often smaller after doing a Check/Repair.

Cathy

Thanks for the suggestions.
