I hate to say it but it is almost certainly something you did, whether you intended to or not. Or someone else has access to your computer and imported a file. The cause is less important than what to do now. If you haven't added any names manually, and if you have made minimal other changes, the simplest fix is to restore from a backup file created before those names appeared.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Unknown names and famjles ???

Can someone give me any ides as to how / where I somehow picked up over 7000 Individuals ( names ) and almost 2500 families since updating to version 7? My data base previously had 945 families and 2874 individuals ... now it has 10044 indivds and 3435 families???

Some of the mysterious surnames are: TIMBERLAKE ( years 1630 to 1760 ) , WOODMAN ( same time period ) , and an Adelaide ... who supposedly married a Hugh ( King of France ? ) .......

These names appeared after I downloaded the "full" version of Charting Companion several weeks ago ... it seems unlikely that there's a connection, but ....?

I haven't added any names for almst 5 months, and this has me totally confused.

Any ideas? ... Millennia??
