Don,

Were those two misplaced endnotes for sources to an individual's notes? We have a problem report recorded in our tracking system for an error like that.

If they were not for an individual's notes please send a private Email to b...@legacyfamilytree.com describing:
The report(s) which have that error
The format you used for the report (Preview, PDF, RTF, Text etc.
Where the sources were linked to the individual (event, birth, death etc.)

When I produced a Descendant Report with endnotes, I got what Walt mentions - the endnote used the same number as it used the first time - example

10. Full citation endnote for the proper source

6. [Full citation endnote No. 6 which first appeared between endnotes 5 and 7]

11. Another full citation endnote from a different source.

According to the Chicago Manual of Style, and ESM "Evidence Explained" reference number should be sequential in both the copy and the endnotes. ESM states: "Source notes that are keyed to narrative text should be numbered consecutively. The corresponding numbers should appear in correct sequence within the text."

So how can Legacy use the same source number at different points in the endnotes?

A recent descendant report had a last page with ten full source citations, numbered 1-10 (most of which should have been abbreviated to /ibid/, and then two end notes, numbered 1 and 2.

Chaos. I did NOT want any end notes, and don't know how to stop them appearing, let alone using the same numbering as the source citations.
