Always make a backup before opening your Legacy databases in Access. In the first place, it's a misconception that you must rename your .fdb file to .mdb in order to open it in MS Access. In the File|Open dialog in Access, change the File Name to *.fdb to see your Legacy databases and open them directly. >I think I tried it once and all I got were errors, so thankfully, I was able >to resurrect my 'bob2.fdb' file and continue. Secondly, you should be able to rename your .fdb to .mdb, edit it, then rename it back to .fdb without a problem. Though I would recommend making a backup and then directly editing the .fdb. If you get errors doing this you probably edited something you shouldn't have. -- Dennis Kowallek (LTools) http://zippersoftware.com/ltools http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ltools Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
