The LegacyUserGroup mailing list now has double opt-in verification. When a new person subscribes to the LegacyUserGroup list an email is sent to the email they are subscribing and they have to click on the link in the email message to verify that the email address they subscribed is correct. I have seen some email clients wrap the link in the message which causes it to not work when you click on it.
Copy the link from your email message and make sure you get all of it. If it's on two lines copy the first line and paste that into your browser address line (don't hit enter) and then copy the second half and add that to the browser's address line and then press enter when you know you have the entire link with no spaces in it. This will then add you to the mailing list. You shouldn't be getting an error 404 of page not found if you got the link correct.
