Thank you.....now it is fine. I was making a GEDcom file and the numbers
were not carrying over correctly. With your suggestion all is well.

Without knowing what you are doing, it is hard to say what you are doing
wrong!

How exactly are you making "a duplicate family file."

If you have your "working" file open and go File>Save Family File as...
and save the file with a new name (eg Merge Testing or something like
that) the new Merge Testing file must be an exact duplicate of your
original.
