With the upcoming Legacy 7.5:
How to best prepare for Legacy 7.5 and the FamilySearch interface
http://legacynews.typepad.com/legacy_news/2009/10/how-to-best-prepare-for-legacy-75-and-the-familysearch-interface-post-1.html

I changed all my locations from church/street names, suburb/city/,
state, country to
 suburb/city/, state/county, country
then used the event address icon for the street name
then updated the geo codes for each specific street addresses
(using http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocoder/)
for birth, baptism, death, buried and all other events.

Exporting my Legacy gedcom across to The Next Generation (tng),
unfortunately the street address is not part of the event address but
rather part of the comment/note.
http://www.groganmob.com/getperson.php?personID=I1249&tree=Grogan

The advantage of actual Street address for tng (ie street number
street name/church) makes the Event map (see lower down on the tng
web page for Eileen Mary Grogan) really nice.

My choices are:
A. Redo all my Legacy data with my old style of street name/church

B. For every event per person on the tng pages change the event address

C. Somehow find a bridge between Legacy and tng - perhaps maybe
manipulate the gedcom eg:
1 EVEN 4 Washington Avenue
2 TYPE Electoral Roll
2 DATE 1942
2 PLAC Malvern East, Victoria, Australia
2 NOTE Grogan, Agnes, home duties, F
3 CONT Grogan, Charles, collector, M
3 CONT Grogan, Eileen Mary, sales, F
3 CONT Grogan, Veronica Frances Mary, home duties, F
2 SOUR @S47@
2 OBJE
3 FORM jpg
3 FILE d:\genie\grogan\doc\electoral\Grogan Charles 1942 Electoral.jpg

I think it would have to look something like
1 EVEN 4 Washington Avenue
2 TYPE Electoral Roll
2 DATE 1942
2 PLAC 4 Washington Avenue, Malvern East, Victoria, Australia

But my gedcom is 108745 lines long ! Nothing that coud be done manually.
then in tng - manually enter the geocodes I've done in the event address tables.

D. Wait for perhaps a Legacy feature to export the event address table
into the event location for a gedcom export?

How have other legacy/tng users tackled this problem?

Thanks

Margaret
