I started off naming all my thumbnail photographs of people themselves, with only their RIN. Then when the file became too large - and took at least ten minutes to back up the Multimedia Files, I separated out off-shoot families and re-numbered some of the RINs to compact the list.
Then it occurred to me that I might be wiser to dispense with RINs completely in naming photographs in case the RIN was changed during further "family separations". That leads to the question that hopefully an expert here can answer - could this actually happen, or are RIN-numbered files anchored to their entry?
