Welcome Angelique, Your points are well taken, however, prior to converting from another Genealogy Program, I purchased the full versions of both Legacy Deluxe and FTM 2010, and evaluated both for quite some time using the same identical data set with several thousand individuals.
Bottom line, I must agree with a previous comment, that I believe that FTM 2010 is bloat ware and a marketing technique for their Ancestry site. Needless to say, I decided upon Legacy Deluxe as the better of the two. Once I began using Legacy consistently, and with the help of more experienced users on this Users Group, I found ways around some of the points that you have made. I am still learning and have a long way to go, but I sincerely believe that I chose the better program, at least for me. I don't believe that a "Perfect" genealogy program has been written yet, so my suggestion would be to choose the one that fits your needs, and personal preferences. Hope this helps a little.
