Hi Paul, We would also like a copy of your program. Our email address is below.

I will answer them all in one reply. > Paul, what is the name of the program ...or did you write it? Sounds > really interesting! I call it 'Census Finder'. I wrote the program. > Sounds like a very useful tool! Please let me know how to obtain it. Send me an email and I will send you a copy. I might see if there is a place where I can get some space on a server and make it available for anyone to download. Any suggestions on 'free' space that everyone can access? (My mail provider provides 5GB but the only files you can upload are songs and pictures.) > Doesn't Research Guidance + Time View give you that already? Yes.... for a specific individual. The program will do it for many individuals so you can see at a glance what is missing. The report is sortable so that you can group a family together and find all the 'missing' census events for a family. I have over 3200 individuals in my Legacy DB and this will do the analysis quickly. For the detailed US Census years (1850-1930) for my Legacy DB, the report contains just under 800 individuals. That means for that timeframe, there were about that number living for at least one of the census years. Additionally, the program can analyze tagged individuals if you want. In Legacy, you could tag all the ancestors for a specific individual and then have the program only report on them. > Yes please Paul, does it handle the UK Census It is country independent. You specify the years that you want it to analyze and it will do those years. I have added buttons that will add the census years for some countries but you can do any year(s) you want. You can use it for multiple countries in the same Legacy file. There is a feature to allow you to exclude individuals from the report for specific years. Thus if you were analyzing for the 1901 Canadian Census, you can exclude those that were living outside Canada at the time. Since many countries conducted censuses during the same year, the program allows you to specify a file name for the exclusion file. This would allow you to have a UK and a Canadian exclusion file and get usable reports for each country. ===== I have plans for two more programs. The upcoming holidays may give me time to work on them. 1. A program that will find 'Census' events and see if there are corresponding 'Occupation' and/or 'Residence' event. 2. A program that will show your ancestry percentage by generation. It would show the percentages by country/State-region of birth of those of each generation. I would like to see if I could include the flag for each region. I sent a note to Legacy last week suggesting that the Census Finder functionality be added to Legacy. Program one above would be another good addition to Legacy and two to Legacy Charts but I haven't sent them in yet. I want to create prototypes.
