Eric:

I use the list of codes here:
http://www.afgs.org/faccents.html
plus a few that I've picked up elsewhere. They seem to work fine in Legacy.

The only problem I've found is with using them in proper names. I've found
that many people omit diacriticals and that they aren't found in RootsWeb
WorldConnect searches. As a result, I had to go back and add AKAs without the
diacriticals and/or hyphens for hundreds of French names.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Macron diacritics in Legacy

Hello-

Some of my ancestors' names have diacritics in them called macrons (ā,
ē, ī, ō, ū). However, when I try to input them into Legacy, they
don't show up. Is there any way of inputting the names so that the
diacritics will show up, or does it just not work in Legacy? If they
don't work, is it something that will be added in the future?

Thanks!
