Not for everyone, and more work certainly, but I keep three family files.

A> This is my clean, lean, and mean file with everything sourced. I
can defend and show you where my information came from in this file.
B> This file is clean, contains a lot of hearsay, but the hearsay
(such as it is) was at least one time provable.
C> Contains names of others I do not know, or names I cannot get a
source for, but they were linked to an ancestor of mine. This file
has the event titled: "UNCONFIRMED." One source for this might be
Ancestry showing an ancestor of mine as having quite a few children,
but they did not list their sources for that and I can't find any
source independently.

It is a lot more work, but this way I can keep a clean family file,
and also include unproven work of others in a separate file.
