Windows 7 put mine in the C:\Program Files (x86) folder. I don't know if I did it intentionally or Windows 7 did it. Should I uninstall it and put it in C:\Legacy?
Another question about Legacy files--where does it hide the configuration file such as when you make changes to the configuration? And what extension does it use? When I've had to do a couple of system restores, I never could find it and had to try to remember what my settings were. It would be easier to just copy them back over. You must install to the default c:\Legacy folder otherwise several errors will show up. You may very well run into problems with Legacy installed to the Program Files folder in Windows 7 also. We have heard reports of problems until it was correctly installed to the default c:\Legacy folder. Please trim your posts and send messages in plain text. Thanks for using Legacy. But where you put the program doesn't really matter. The only thing it cares about is where to find it's records. The first is the location you need to set is that of your Legacy database (the .fdb file and others). I've got mine in C:\Genealogy\Legacy. Everything I do with my genealogy is in the C:\Genealogy folder. So, my pictures are in C:\Genealogy\Pictures, etc. I use sub directories for different family members so data that I've collected (marriage licenses, etc.) go in the Legacy\Data\Walton folder or whichever part of the family applies. Same for pictures. I don't have audio or video so I don't use those. Not sure what else you're looking for, so hope this helps.
