I am using your last post as my entry point Sherry, mainly because you are from 'Legacy support'.
I am at my wits end, I cannot get Legacy Charting7 to work on my computer. I am using Windows XP and everything else from Legacy7 works just fine. This is the original message sent via Legacy's support page: ..................................................................................... December 17, 2009. Problem: Charting will not operate: Error Messages: Access violation at address 0043DD98 in module legacycharting.exe. Read of address 0000002c. In safe mode Charting is accessable until another error message appears, "System error. Code: 1722. The RPC server is unavailable". ......................................................................................... Also from your Technical help page, I have tried to download the suggested 'RPC' file from Microsoft but it is not available to me for some reason. ..................................................................................... Jim from customer support asked me to try this: 1) Download this Windows script file named "FixLegacyChartingInstall.bat" and run it on your computer. http://www.legacycharting.com/Download/FixLegacyChartingInstall.bat 2) Please temporarily disable your Internet security (firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware, spam blocker, popup blocker, etc.) because some very aggressive Internet security programs may remove system files that Legacy needs to work properly or block Legacy from reaching the Internet when trying to download. Next visit http://www.legacycharting.com/download.asp then download and run the charting setup from the Web. ....................................................................................... Jim said that if this doesn't work, (and it didn't), that he would hand it over to the programer. Fair enough, we are in the Christmas period and they are probably on holidays, but I have heard nothing yet from the programer/s. So, as I said, I tried that, plus a zillion other things, both in normal mode and safe mode. After uninstalling both Legacy7 and LegacyCharting, then deleteing everything, including the Millennia folder, as well as the C:\Legacy folder, all has been to no avail. Also as well as a few other places, I tried installing everything to; D&S>All users> App Data>Legacy. My thinking being that this might be available to everyone, hence maybe no access violation. But alas, still the same access violation notices. I am definitely not a computer expert, more likely regarded as an intermediate user (since 1998), and so, I am probably way off the mark. As I say, I am at my wits end and willing to try anything from the very learned users on this list, if they have anything to suggest.
