Carl, I am just catching up on my post having been away, so sorry for the few days delay in commenting.
This matter has been discussed on the list a few times and you should be able to find details in the archives. However, a number of Listers, of which I am one, much prefer the current arrangement of Events being attached to People. I know that other programs have the opposite arrangement, and it often confuses those who move to Legacy from one of those programs. To me genealogy is about people, our ancestors, and not about Events. The Events happen to, or are caused by, our ancestors, and not normally the other way round. For that reason I find it strange that one might wish to have the Events as the controlling feature and if, because of programming constraints or program size (bloat) it is only reasonable to have one or the other, then I would wish to have the priority with the people. That is a main reason as to why I use Legacy. I feel this would be much better than having to create a specific CENSUS event for each person/marriage found in a family’s entry on the census. Is this still in the works?
